The celebration of the Nativity of Christ in our parish was filled with warmth, joy, and sincere prayer. Everything began with the Great Compline, during which everyone fervently sang “God is with us.” This prayer united all those present and created a special atmosphere of spiritual peace and gratitude.
Following this, a solemn Divine Liturgy was held, during which Fr. Roman, in his homily, movingly emphasized the significance of Christmas. He highlighted that through shared prayer, the Lord is with us, strengthening our faith and giving us hope for victory and peace in our homeland.
A special moment of the celebration was the performance by children from St. Olga’s Ukrainian School. Their heartfelt and sincere carols glorified the Newborn Savior and touched the hearts of everyone present.
Later, Fr. Roman anointed everyone and lovingly distributed prosphora with honey as a symbol of God’s presence and blessing in every home. This gesture was deeply moving and once again underscored the importance of unity and trust in God.
Unforgettable was the modern vertep (nativity play), prepared by the children under the guidance of Mr. Taras Turiv. The performance, based on real events of today, moved and impressed everyone, reminding us of the power of faith and hope even in the most challenging times.
At the conclusion of the celebration, parishioners had the opportunity to enjoy delicious traditional dishes, thoughtfully prepared by the sisterhood. A true atmosphere of family warmth and gratitude filled our parish hall.
We sincerely thank everyone who contributed their effort, time, and love to make this celebration so special. May the Newborn Christ bless everyone with His peace, grace, and light.
Christ is Born! Glorify Him!
