On July 5, our parish community held a summer picnic — a beautiful opportunity for all parishioners to come together and share the joy of fellowship, prayer, and singing.
We began with a prayer and blessing, because in every gathering we believe: God is among us. Joyful laughter, smiling faces, heartfelt conversations, children’s giggles, and delicious food created a warm, family-like atmosphere.
A highlight of the picnic was the performance by the “Palianytsia” band, who sang Ukrainian songs with great enthusiasm. As we know well, the soul of the Ukrainian people is a singing soul. We thank Mr. Orest and all the members of the group for nurturing our language and culture through music — right here in the U.S., on this little island of Ukrainianness that we are building together with faith, hope, and love.
This gathering was not only a time of rest, but also a meaningful spiritual moment that strengthened our unity. It’s in these simple, sincere events that trust grows, mutual support deepens, and our shared identity is preserved.
May the Lord bless everyone who helped organize this picnic, and may He grant our community many more moments of togetherness like this.
