Banduragirl is a singer & virtuoso of bandura – Ukrainian origin instrument – will bring Ukrainian songs to USA to raise money for Ukraine.
She is leading the folk fusion band Troye Zillia, she skillfully blends Ukrainian folk songs with global influences. Anastasiya`s deep exploration of Ukrainian folklore provides a sense of strong roots and understanding of the role of the songs in everyday life, serving as milestones and mediators. The impact of war dramatically altered her life, leading her from working in a refugee shelter to organizing charitable concerts abroad.
Strong power of Ukrainian folk songs accompanied by soft and charming bandura, arranged in a jazzy and experimental way will lead listeners to a new quality image of Ukrainian culture. Bandura, which is a unique chromatic instrument from Ukraine, – originated from diatonic simple instruments, which travel musicians used to accompany songs about life, love & war. It was almost forgotten and even oppressed by the Soviet regime, but now rising up – to find new paths and new ways to grow.
Anastasia is bandura ambassador & not only creates music, but also develops bandura community by creating a festival of modern bandura Lviv Bandur Fest & co-creating mobile application Bandura App (where you can play 6 Ukrainian musical instruments), writing articles & giving lectures about music in Ukraine. She collaborated with many different musicians and artists around Europe, Middle East & North America.
During full scale war She plays not only abroad to raise money but also goes to very east, south and north to play for Ukrainian defenders, being sometimes 10-15 kilometers from the front lines.
At this concert Banduragirl will raise money for charitable foundation “Tykho”, who supports several units in Arm Forces.
